APPLY FERTILIZER PRECISELY.
COMBINE OPERATIONS.
SAVE RESOURCES.
Combine fertilisation and sowing in just one pass – precise, efficient and flexible. With the corrosion-protected Pneumatic Seeders of the Fertilizer Edition (PS D), you apply fertilizer, micro granulates and seeds in a targeted manner using your existing implements. This saves you additional passes, reduces time and fuel consumption, and allows you to use your inputs according to requirements.
With the Pneumatic Seeders Fertilizer Edition (PS D), you apply fertilizer, micro granulates, cover crops and other suitable spreading materials precisely – and combine the application directly with sowing, soil tillage or crop care.
The specially corrosion-protected design combines the proven APV seeding shaft metering with pneumatic distribution. Different hopper sizes, fan variants, seeding shafts and application solutions allow for a configuration that fits your machine, working width and spread rate.

Apply fertilizer and seeds precisely
The electrically driven seeding shaft meters the spreading material exactly. The fan then transports it to the individual outlets and ensures uniform distribution across the working width.
One system for different requirements
From compact 120 litres to large hoppers with 1,600 litres for professional area performance: hopper size, fan, seeding shaft, number of outlets and control system can be selected to suit the application.
Advantages of the APV fertilizer spreader (PS D)
Process
Hopper → Seeding shaft → Air duct → Fan → Hose system → Placement
Meter precisely – distribute pneumatically
The functional principle is largely identical for the entire PS D series.
1. Metering
The spreading material is located in the hopper and is metered exactly via the electrically driven seeding shaft.
From there, it falls into the air flow of the fan.
2. Application
The air flow then transports the material via hoses to the individual outlets. Depending on the machine configuration, placement takes place, for example:
- via dispersion plates for surface distribution
- via Y-dividers
- via distribution heads
- via seed coulters
- directly behind soil tillage tools
This allows the spreading material to be brought specifically to the desired placement location.
APV emphasizes the uniform lateral distribution as well as the application close to the ground, which is therefore less susceptible to wind.

More InformationCorrosion protection for demanding spreading materials
The Fertiliser Edition is deliberately different from the standard version of the Pneumatic Seeders.
These implements are specifically designed for use with corrosive spreading materials.
These include, among others
- CDC coating of the powder-coated components
- stainless steel standard parts
- stainless steel agitator
- stainless steel brush adjustment
- corrosion-resistant seed shaft components
- specially sealed construction
We expressly point out that the Fertiliser Edition should be used with corrosive agents such as fertiliser or corresponding micro granulates.
Even distribution across the working width
After metering, the spreading material is pneumatically transported to the individual application points.
This allows the amount to be distributed precisely across the entire machine width.
Depending on the implement version and equipment, for example:
- 8 outlets
- 16 outlets
- up to 32 outlets are possible on large PS models.
Flexible placement - broadcast or targeted application
A major advantage of pneumatic conveying is that the placement point does not have to be directly beneath the seeder.
The material can be delivered via hoses to different points on the implement.
For example
- in front of a roller
- behind a roller
- in front of tillage tools
- behind cultivator tines
- via dispersion plates
- directly into seed boots
- into a distribution head
This also allows for different placement depths and the combination of seed and fertiliser within a single pass.
Multi-Season Use
The PS Fertilizer Edition does not have to be used exclusively for fertilizing.
Depending on the equipment, the following can be applied, among others:
- Mineral fertilizer
- Starter fertilizer
- Micronutrients
- Micro granulates
- suitable crop protection granulates
- Cover crops
- Undersown crops
- Reseeding
- Grass
- Seed mixtures
- other suitable seeds
This allows the same implement to be used at multiple points throughout the growing season.
Seeding shaft metering
A central advantage of the APV Pneumatic Seeders is the selection of different seeding shafts.
The respective seeding shaft is selected according to:
For the Fertilizer Edition, corrosion-protected seeding shafts are available for a wide variety of materials, such as:
Fine blind seeding shaft - For fine seeds and micro granulates.
Flex 20 - For coarser spreading materials such as fertilizer, cereals, peas or beans.
Further seeding shafts allow for adaptation to very fine or special spreading materials.
TWIN concept
Two chambers - Two seeding shafts - metered separately
With the APV TWIN seeders, there are two separate chambers and two separately running seeding shafts per hopper. Thus, two different components can be metered and applied independently of each other per pass.
Please feel free to ask us about the different hopper sizes, control box options, sensors and accessories.
SMART TWIN Concept
Two chambers - split seeding shaft - precision farming
The SMART TWIN takes the TWIN principle further into the digital age.
Unlike the classic TWIN, the SMART TWIN is based on a split seeding shaft, allowing the left and right halves of the machine to be controlled separately via ISOBUS.
Advantages:
Hydraulic fan
High air output for large quantities and working widths
For higher spread rates, large working widths, or heavier spreading materials, APV recommends the hydraulic fan.
Technical requirements:
- maximum approx. 180 bar
- maximum approx. 38 l/min oil flow
- pressureless return required
For the large PS 800–1600 variants, the hydraulic fan is the key solution.
From simple to Precision Farming
The PS Fertilizer Edition can – depending on the device variant and equipment – be combined with different APV control systems.
This allows the operation to be adapted to the farm, tractor and desired degree of automation.
ISOBUS
Professional control directly via the tractor terminal
With APV ISOBUS control, the seeder is integrated directly into the tractor's operating concept. An additional display in the cab is not required. Besides the classic control functions, ISOBUS also enables precision farming applications such as Section Control and Variable Rate Control.
Advantages
Profi Control
ISOBUS even without an ISOBUS tractor
For operations that want to use the benefits of ISOBUS-capable APV machines but don't have a suitable terminal on their tractor, APV offers Profi Control as a stand-alone solution. Ideal for shared equipment or operations with multiple tractors without ISOBUS equipment.
Control Box 5.2
The Control Box 5.2 extends the basic functions with numerous automations. The spread rate can be automatically adapted to the driving speed, the metering at the headland can be controlled and the calibration test can be carried out conveniently. Thus, the module combines extensive functions with proven operation.
Functions
Control Terminal 5.7
Operate two seeders independently with one control system
The Control Box 5.7 was specially developed for applications where two seeding shafts or two APV seeders need to be controlled in parallel and independently of one another. This makes it particularly suitable for more complex seed combinations and the PS TWIN.
Functions
Control Terminal 1.2
The solid foundation for the essential functions
The compact Control Box 1.2 offers all the essential basic functions for reliable operation of an APV seeder. The seeding shaft and electric fan can be easily controlled and monitored electronically. Selected sensors can also be integrated – ideal for users looking for straightforward, functional control.

FAQ
What is the difference between a normal Pneumatic Seeder and the PS Fertilizer Edition from APV?
The Pneumatic Seeders Fertilizer Edition (PS D) are specially designed for the application of fertilizer and other suitable spreading materials. For this purpose, corrosion-resistant materials and coatings are used. Thus, the Fertilizer Edition combines the proven precise metering and pneumatic distribution of APV seeders with a design tailored to fertilizer.
Which spreading materials can be applied with the APV PS Fertilizer Edition?
Depending on the equipment and the seeding shaft used, different spreading materials such as fertilizer, cover crops and suitable granules can be applied with the Pneumatic Seeders Fertilizer Edition. The properties of the spreading material and the selection of the matching seeding shaft are decisive for precise metering.
Can I also sow cover crops with the PS Fertilizer Edition?
Yes. The APV PS Fertilizer Edition is not exclusively intended for fertilizer. With the right equipment, you can also apply cover crops and seed mixtures. This allows the implement to be used for different applications throughout the year.
Can fertilizer application be combined with soil tillage?
Yes. A Pneumatic Seeder of the Fertilizer Edition can be mounted on suitable soil tillage implements. This allows you, for example, to apply fertilizer or seeds during an already necessary soil tillage pass and save additional passes.
How is the spreading material distributed with a Pneumatic Seeder Fertilizer Edition?
The spreading material is first precisely metered via the seeding shaft. The air flow then transports the material via hoses to the dispersion plates, which distribute it across the working width. This separates metering and lateral distribution and ensures controlled application of the spreading material.
Which hopper sizes are available for the Pneumatic Seeders Fertilizer Edition?
The PS Fertilizer Edition is available in different hopper sizes. This allows the implement to be selected to suit the spread rate, area performance and application requirements. For larger areas and higher spreading material quantities, correspondingly larger models are available.
What is the advantage of the split APV spreader PS 500 D TWIN?
The PS 500 D TWIN has a split 500-litre steel hopper and two independently working metering units. This allows two different components to be metered separately and applied simultaneously. The hopper division can be 70:30 or 50:50 depending on the version.
Why is the separate metering of two components useful with the PS 500 D TWIN?
Different spreading materials often require different application rates and metering. Thanks to the two separate metering units of the PS 500 D TWIN, two components can be metered according to their respective requirements and yet be applied in the same pass.
Which Pneumatic Seeder Fertilizer Edition fits my farm?
The right version depends in particular on the working width, area size, desired spread rate, spreading material, carrier machine and required hopper volume. For smaller and medium-sized applications, more compact PS D models are available, while larger hoppers can reduce the number of necessary filling processes, especially with high spread rates and large areas.
Das Problem
Fertilisation, cover crop sowing or granule application are often carried out as separate work steps.
At the same time, fertilizer and corrosive micro granulates in particular place high demands on the technology used.
Die Lösung
With a Pneumatic Seeder Fertilizer Edition (PS D), the metering and application technology is mounted directly on the existing machine. This allows, for example:
to be combined in one pass.
APV describes precisely this combination of sowing and application as a major advantage: fewer passes, less workload and more targeted use of inputs.
