REGULATE WEEDS EFFECTIVELY.
Break up soil crusts.
Extremely powerful.
With the precision Rotary Hoe (RC), you can cultivate your fields efficiently and gently, even at high working speeds of up to 20 km/h. The individually suspended hoe stars adapt optimally to soil unevenness while maintaining constant working pressure, ensuring uniform cultivation.
Regulate weeds precisely
even in early crop stages with the
APV precision Rotary Hoe (RC)
The APV Rotary Hoe (RC) is your solution for early, safe and powerful weed control in young crop stages. Its functional principle is based on horizontal soil movement in the top 2 cm of the soil layer. This is exactly where germinating threads and young weeds are loosened, while deeper-rooting crops are protected.
With rotating hoe stars, hydraulic pressure adjustment and precise ground tracking, the Rotary Hoe (RC) is ideal for operations that want to combine mechanical crop care with high area coverage. Particularly powerful at 16-20 km/h.

More InformationRegulate weeds early and safely
The Rotary Hoe (RC) loosens germinating threads and young weeds in the top soil layer. This makes it particularly suitable for early crop stages.
Break crusts and activate soil
The rotating hoe stars break up encrusted soils, bring oxygen into the ground and support an active soil surface.
Advantages of the Rotary Hoe
The Principle
The hoe stars of the Rotary Hoe (RC) engage in the top soil layer and create a horizontal soil movement in the upper approx. 2 cm. This loosens, buries or brings germinating threads and young weeds to the surface. Since weeds are lighter than soil, they remain on top and can dry out.
At the same time, the rotating hoe stars break up soil crusts. Oxygen enters the soil, the soil surface is activated and the development of the crops is supported.
Perfectly constant pressure
Each hoe star can apply up to 30 kg of pressure to the ground. The unique design enables almost constant tool pressure over the entire spring travel. The pressure is hydraulically adjustable as standard.
Early crop stages
The Rotary Hoe (RC) shows its strengths particularly in early crop stages. In contrast to pulled weeder systems, it works with rotating hoe stars. As a result, the main crop is not dragged along but treated as gently as possible. This makes operations in sensitive stages significantly safer – for example, with pumpkin in the cotyledon stage or maize in the two-leaf stage.

Application examples
The Rotary Hoe (RC) is ideally suited for, among other things:

Special features of the hoe stars
The hoe stars are the central working element of the Rotary Hoe (RC). They are rotatably mounted and individually suspended. This allows each hoe star to follow soil unevenness and transfer pressure evenly to the ground.
The rotating method of operation has a decisive advantage: the crop is not permanently dragged along as is the case with pulled tools. Instead, the soil is moved, young weeds are loosened and the main crop is protected.
The tool rings can be raised and are designed so that they can move backwards and upwards. This supports precise ground tracking and high work quality across the entire width.
Each hoe star can apply up to 30 kg of pressure to the ground. The unique design enables almost constant tool pressure over the entire spring travel. The pressure is hydraulically adjustable as standard.
Individual suspension
Each star has its own suspension with spring pre-tensioning. Thanks to the special kinematics, the contact pressure remains almost constant over a movement range of around 20 to 25 cm. This ensures that the tools work evenly even with soil unevenness, wheel tracks or changing field contours.
The big advantage in practice: the Rotary Hoe adapts reliably to the surface without the working pressure on the tools changing significantly. This allows for both very gentle and very intensive work, depending on the operating conditions.
This results in uniform, gentle soil tillage – with a precise effect in mechanical weed control and high adaptability in the field.

FAQ
What is a precision rotary hoe and what is it used for?
The precision Rotary Hoe (RC) from APV is used for mechanical weed control in agricultural crops. The rotating hoe stars cultivate the soil surface, uproot or bury young weeds and simultaneously break up soil encrustations.
How does mechanical weed control work with the precision rotary hoe?
The hoe stars engage in the soil surface while driving and move the top soil layer. This uproots, exposes or buries young weeds. At the same time, encrustations are broken up and the soil surface is loosened.
What distinguishes the precision rotary hoe from a classic Tined Weeder?
While a classic Tined Weeder works with spring tines, the APV precision Rotary Hoe uses rotating hoe stars. These break up soil encrustations and enable intensive cultivation close to the surface. Which method is better suited depends on the crop, development stage, weed pressure and soil conditions.
How do the hoe stars of the precision rotary hoe adapt to soil unevenness?
The hoe stars of the APV precision Rotary Hoe are individually suspended and spring-loaded. This allows them to adapt independently to the soil surface and maintain the most uniform soil contact possible even with height differences.
Does the pressure of the hoe stars remain constant even with soil unevenness?
The suspension of the individually suspended hoe stars is designed so that the pressure remains largely constant over a spring travel of about 20 to 25 cm. This allows the precision Rotary Hoe to work evenly even with height differences of up to about 30 cm.
Can the precision rotary hoe also be used on encrusted soils?
Yes. Breaking up soil encrustations is one of the important application possibilities of the APV precision Rotary Hoe. The rotating hoe stars engage in the soil surface, break up crusts and simultaneously loosen the top soil layer.
What working speed is possible with the APV precision Rotary Hoe?
Depending on the operating conditions, the precision Rotary Hoe can be operated at about 16 to 30 km/h. The appropriate speed depends on the crop, development stage, soil conditions and desired cultivation intensity.
What advantages does the high working speed of the precision rotary hoe offer?
Working speeds of up to 30 km/h enable high area coverage. This is particularly advantageous for short time windows for mechanical crop care when larger areas have to be cultivated at the appropriate development time.
Das Problem
In young crop stages, mechanical weed control is particularly effective – but also particularly demanding. The crop should be protected while germinating threads and young weeds are reliably loosened. At the same time, crusts must be broken, soil unevenness compensated for and large areas cultivated in a short time.
Die Lösung
The APV Rotary Hoe (RC) was developed for operations that want to regulate mechanically early, precisely and with high area coverage. The rotating hoe stars move the soil horizontally in the top 2 cm. This loosens young weeds while deeper-rooting crops are protected. Thanks to the individual suspension of the hoe stars and the hydraulic pressure compensation, the work result remains uniform even on uneven surfaces.
